Police Warn Residents of Phone Scams

alertFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Yesterday Franklin Police Department received several phone calls from City of Franklin residents, in addition to residents in the surrounding Venango County area, in reference to suspected scams of various types.

According to police, on Sunday, July 12, residents received phone calls from individuals representing themselves as a charity or organization, then followed up by requesting personal information, confidential information, identifying information, or financial information.

The City of Franklin Police are urging people to use caution and NOT release any confidential information, any identifying information, or financial information to any person soliciting over the phone.
