Polk Man Caught During Attempted Burglary Due in Court Tomorrow

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Polk man who was allegedly caught and confronted while attempting to steal from a residence in Frenchcreek Township is scheduled to stand for a hearing in court tomorrow.

Court documents indicate 37-year-old Kenneth Raymond Crawford is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in Venango County Central Court with Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland presiding at 1:30 p.m. on August 4, on the following charges:

– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, Person Present, Felony 1
– Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure, Felony 2
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1

He is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on $15,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in July.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:00 p.m. on July 17, Kenneth Raymond Crawford and an unknown individual entered a residence owned by a known victim on Mercer Road in Frenchcreek Township and attempted to steal a black case containing cutlery items.

The complaint states that while in the process of attempting to steal the items, they were confronted by two known individuals who were later able to identify Crawford based on a photo line-up.

Crawford was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 9:05 p.m. on July 23.
