Polk Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 62

state_policeFRENCHCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say around 4:46 p.m. on June 27, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Mercer Road (State Route 62), at its intersection with Perry Street, in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

According to police, 61-year-old Deborah S. Stewart and 52-year-old Frederick W. Frye, both of Polk, were involved in the collision.

Police say Stewart was stopped at a legally posted stop sign on Perry Street, at its intersection with SR 62 and was negotiating a left turn from the stop sign.

According to police, Stewart drove her 2007 Honda Civic into the path of a 1999 Ford F-150, driven by Frye, which was traveling south on SR 62. The Ford struck the Honda on the driver’s side door, causing disabling damage to the Honda. The Ford sustained minor damage.

Stewart was using a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. The driver’s side airbags deployed, police say.

Frye and a passenger in his vehicle – 51-year-old Robin R. Frye, of Polk – were using seat belts and were not injured.

Stewart was charged with a traffic violation.

Community Ambulance Service and Lowrey’s Towing assisted at the scene.
