PLEASANTVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a local juvenile has been charged after falsely accusing a man of sexual abuse.

According to a release issued Thursday, the incident was reported to Franklin-based State Police on July 6, via Childline, involving allegations of sexual abuse made by a juvenile.

According to police, the juvenile went through a forensic interview on July 19, witnessed by a trooper, during which the juvenile made several false statements accusing a known man of sexual abuse at a location in Pleasantville Borough.

Police say the statements were determined to be false due to timesheets and security camera footage provided by the known man.

According to police, the juvenile then admitted to fabricating the statements during an August 14 interview.

The juvenile involved has been charged with making false reports of child abuse to law enforcement.
