Endeavor Man Escapes Injury After Deer Collision on Route 62

TIONESTA TOWNSHIP (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say on June 29 a man escaped injury when his vehicle struck a deer on the roadway, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

According to police, around 6:20 a.m. Donald E. Summerville, 56, of Endeavor, was operating a 1991 Honda Civic traveling south along State Route 62, just south of the Hickory Township line, when the front portion of the vehicle impacted a deer.

Summerville was able to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop off the west side of the roadway, police say.

He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

No other information was released.
