Dr. Thomas RadeckiSENECA, Pa. (EYT) – According to a release issued by the Department of State and the PA Board of Medicine, Thomas E. Radecki has agreed to the permanent voluntary surrender of his medical license.

Radecki is accused of over-prescribing patient medications and trading prescription drugs for sex.

Complaints were filed earlier this year with the Attorney General’s office, agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Clarion County District Attorney’s office, the Pennsylvania State Police, and several municipal police departments concerning Radecki over-prescribing or dispensing Subutex &#8211 a drug used to treat opiod dependence.

Authorities executed search warrants at Radecki’s offices in Clarion, Seneca, DuBois, and Kane in late June. Evidence was also seized from Radecki’s home in Clarion.

Radecki specialized in treating patients who are addicted to heroin and highly addictive pain pills through the use of a controversial prescription medication called Suboxone.

In a February interview with Ron Wilshire, Radecki stated that he and several other doctors that he hired were treating nearly 1,000 patients in the area with Suboxone.

The case remains under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office.

According to the Department of State and the PA Board of Medicine, Radecki voluntarily surrendered his medical license because he engaged in immoral and/or unprofessional conduct.
