Rain, Snow on the Way for Venango County

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — The recent thaw has kept milder temperatures and dry weather in the area, but rain and snow are on the way for Venango County and surrounding areas.

Temperatures Tuesday ranged into the 50s, as the sun peeked out in Venango County, but according to the National Weather Service, rain and colder temperatures will be setting in later this week.

Wet weather is expected to return Wednesday, with scattered rain showers developing later in the day. Rain showers are likely throughout the day Thursday, with a predicted high of 49 degrees, and the temperature is expected to begin to drop Thursday evening.

There is a 100% chance of precipitation with rain mixed with snow late Thursday night and early Friday morning as cold weather sets back in, with a predicted high temperature of around 35 degrees on Friday, and continuing snow showers are possible through the early morning hours. The afternoon is predicted to be breezy, with a northwest wind 18 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
