Reno Man Arrested for Hitting, Threatening Woman During Domestic Dispute

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Reno man is behind bars following an incident late last week where he allegedly struck and threatened a woman during a domestic dispute.

Court documents indicate the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 27-year-old William Edward Dolan.

According to a criminal complaint, on April 1, Sugarcreek Borough Police were dispatched to a residence on 3rd Street in Reno for a report of a disturbance.

At the scene, police spoke to a known victim who reported being in an argument with William Dolan that had become physical.

The complaint notes police observed the victim had what appeared to be a “grab mark” on the left side of her neck, a black mark under her right eye, and marks on her forearms where the hair had been singed.

According to the complaint, the witness told police that Dolan had struck her “because she had raised her voice to him” due to an argument. The victim reported Dolan then threatened to harm her physically by “beating her up.”

The complaint notes the victim also told police that Dolan had pulled a knife on her and threatened her physically.

The victim also stated she was concerned about Dolan “getting worse due to his drug use,” according to the complaint.

Dolan was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 3:00 p.m. on April 1, on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Comm. Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on April 7, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
