SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a report of an intoxicated man attempting to start fights with residents in a local trailer park led to the arrest of a wanted Florida man in Sugarcreek Borough on Friday evening.

Around 8:40 p.m. on Friday, October 22, Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to a location on Red Bridge Lane in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County, for a report of a drunk male attempting to engage in physical altercations with residents in a trailer park there.

Police say the man, identified as 31-year-old Ryan Schmidt, of St. Petersburg, Florida, was detained without further incident when they arrived at the scene.

While Schmidt was being patted down, police reportedly found a small amount of marijuana on his person.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that Schmidt had felony warrants for his arrest out of Manatee County, Florida.

Police say Schmidt was subsequently arraigned and placed in the Venango County Jail where he is awaiting a preliminary hearing before being extradited back to Florida.
