VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A hearing is set for Wednesday morning for a Rouseville man who was allegedly involved in a scuffle with another man at a residence in Rouseville on Christmas Day.

Court documents indicate 31-year-old Mitchell James Rudolph is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in Venango County Central Court at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Rudolph is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail $10,000.00 monetary bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, December 25, Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to a residence on Mechanic Street in Rouseville for a report of a fight between two men.

The complaint indicates police found a known male victim sitting on the stairs of the porch with a woman standing on the porch nearby.

The complaint notes police observed the victim had a noticeable laceration to his left eyebrow.

According to the complaint, the victim reported that Mitchell Rudolph had become angry and came toward him, attempting to start a fight. The victim told police Rudolph got “in his face” and got into a fighting stance. The victim indicated he pushed Rudolph away out of self-defense, and Rudolph then struck him in the face.

The woman, who witnessed the incident and called police, reported that she pepper-sprayed both men, which caused them to separate.

The complaint indicates the victim suffered a severe laceration to his upper left eyebrow and Rudolph suffered a bloody lip. Both men reportedly indicated the incident was a “mostly mutual fight.” However, the investigation found Rudolph was the aggressor in the incident.

Rudolph was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 7:20 p.m. on December 26.
