Sharon Rose Schwabenbauer, 65, of Franklin, formerly of Oil City, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at her residence.

Born April 29, 1947 in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Donna Croup Kuhls.

Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Oil City High School and then later earned her license as a certified nurse’s aide.

She enjoyed her position as a CNA at the Presbyterian Home in Oil City for many years.

Sharon enjoyed traveling and gardening. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who embraced life to the fullest. Her commitment to her family was unparalleled and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was married in Lucinda on September 3, 1999 to James P. Schwabenbauer, who survives.

Also surviving are her children, Frank P. McCalmont, Jr. of Oil City, Melanie Dillion and husband Jason of Oil City, William McCalmont and wife Tiffany of West Point, New York; a daughter-in-law, Roberta McCalmont of Oil City; grandchildren, Frankie B. McCalmont and wife Kirstin, Julie Amsdell and husband Nicholas, Misty Braun and husband Michael, Amanda McCalmont, Jenna Dillion, Jessica Smith and husband Aaron, Jason Dillion, Jr., Carli and Terrance McCalmont, and Hayden and Wyatt McCalmont; and two great-grandchildren, David Smith and Gabriel McCalmont.

She is also survived by two brothers, David Kuhls and wife Carolyn and William Kuhls and wife Carol, all of Oil City; five sisters, Elsie “Bobbie” Smith and husband Rolland of Oil City, Jeannie Kuhls of Reno, Lori Frankenberger and husband Charles of Franklin, Kristine Whitmer of Oil City, and Kelly Sterner and husband Donald of Cooperstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday (Feb. 1) from 4-8 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home Saturday (Feb. 2) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Phillips, pastor of Bethel United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Lamey Cemetery near Dempseytown.
