State Police Calls: Drug Possession, Criminal Mischief

Drug Possession in Oil City

Around 11:21 p.m. on Sunday September 27, a 2003 Mercury was stopped for a traffic violation on Pearl Avenue near Lumberton Alley in Oil City for a traffic violation.

Police say upon making contact with the driver, an odor of marijuana was detected from the vehicle, and upon speaking with the driver, it was determined that he was under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to police, the driver and the passenger admitted to controlled substances were located on them and within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle then located controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, identified as an Oil City man, was subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

The names of the individuals involved were not released.

Criminal Mischief in East Fairfield Township, Crawford County

Around 9:04 p.m. on August 26, Meadville-based State Police received a call to respond to a location on Freyermuth Road in East Fairfield Township, Crawford County, for a report of a windshield that was smashed on a vehicle.

Police say the complainant, a known 51-year-old Oil City man, showed them that the rear windshield, valued at $250.00, was smashed out of his 2006 Ford.

According to police, a non-traffic citation for criminal mischief was subsequently filed against 45-year-old Tamilyn Marie Shetler, of Meadville, through District Court 30-3-06 in relation to the incident.
