State Police Calls: DUI Arrests in Venango County

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Oil City

Around 2:38 a.m. on September 12, Franklin-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2018 Hyundai Tucson on Lincoln Street near Beatty Place in Oil City.

Police say the driver, identified as a 39-year-old Oil City man, was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The driver’s name was not released.

DUI in Scrubgrass Township

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed the following charges against 22-year-old Michael D. Wengerd, of Emlenton:

– DUI: Highest Rte of Alc (BAC .16+) 2nd Offense, Misdemeanor 1
– DUI: General Impairment/Incapable of Driving Safely — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– Disregard Traffic Lane (Single), Summary
– Limitations on Driving on Left Side of Road, Summary
– Fail to use safety belt — driver and front seat occupant, Summary
– Driving at Safe Speed, Summary

The charges are related to an incident in Scrubgrass Township on June 27.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on October 20, with Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey presiding.
