State Police Calls: False Alarm, Theft

False Alarm in Sugarcreek Borough

Franklin-based State Police say around 2:13 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, an alarm was activated indicating motion within the Rural King store in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

According to police, upon their arrival at the store, it was discovered that the facility was secure and no one was inside.

Police say this was the tenth false alarm in a three-month span, and Rural King was cited for the incident.

Theft in Green Township

Around 6:27 p.m. on September 25, Marienville-based State Police received a report of a theft of an electric meter in Green Township, Forest County.

Police say the electric meter, which belongs to Central Electric Co-Op Inc., was removed from the side of a camp belonging to a known 58-year-old West Middlesex woman on Guitonville Road.

The investigation is ongoing.
