State Police Calls: Theft/Bad Check, Harassment Incident, DUI Arrest

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Theft/Bad Checks in Cranberry Township

Around 2:33 p.m. on November 17, Franklin-based State Police received a call in regard to a local business on State Route 257 in Cranberry Township, Venango County, receiving a bad payment in the form of a check from a known 31-year-old Kennerdell woman.

The business reported that it was discovered the check was bad due to insufficient funds.

The case remains under investigation.

The name of the accused was not released.

Harassment in Cranberry Township

On November 21, Franklin-based State police received a report of an incident of harassment at the Cranberry Mall parking lot in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say around 2:30 p.m. on November 21, 20-year-old Tressa Smith, of Rouseville, allegedly slapped a known 21-year-old Rouseville man in the parking lot, breaking his glasses.

According to police, one count of summary harassment was filed against Smith through District Court 28-3-04.

DUI in Cherrytree Township

Around 2:13 a.m. on November 22, Franklin-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2020 GM Yukon on State Route 8 near Black Road in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, for several traffic violations.

Police say the driver, identified as 31-year-old Zachary Zimmerman, of Erie, was found to be under the influence of alcohol during the stop.
