State Police Calls: Traffic Stop in Oil City Leads to DUI Arrest

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to the following incidents:

Traffic Stop in Oil City Results in DUI Arrest

Franklin-based State Police say a traffic stop was initiated on a 2012 Ford Fusion around 2:25 a.m. on Thursday, November 24, on Spring Street/Plummer Street, in Oil City, Venango County.

Police say a known 22-year-old man from Oil City was stopped for a vehicle equipment violation.

During the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

DUI and related charges will be filed upon receiving the results of a blood test.

Vehicle Versus Deer Collision on Route 8

According to PSP Franklin, a vehicle versus deer collision occurred on Tuesday, November 22, at 2:07 a.m., on State Route 8, in Irwin Township, Venango County.

Police say this crash occurred as 26-year-old Sierra L Haglock, of Oil City, was traveling northbound on State Route 8 in a 2014 Toyota Camry and impacted a deer that entered the roadway from the west berm.

The impact of the Toyota with the deer rendered it inoperable.

Haglock was using a seat belt and was not injured.
