FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police are investigating an incident of fraud involving a “Disaster Relief Loan” at an area business.

According to police, a known male suspect fraudulently obtained $150,000.00 for himself from the Small Business Administration (SBA) under a “Disaster Relief Loan.”

Police say the suspect obtained the money from the SBA after fraudulently acting as the majority interest in a company known as North Country, LLC. He filed the necessary paperwork and corresponding forms without the permission or authorization of the shared company interests, leaving individuals from the company responsible for the repayment of the money.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the suspect was not released.
