BARKEYVILLE BORO, Pa. (EYT) – Tentative plans for a Dollar General store in Barkeyville Borough were announced at the Venango County Planning Commission meeting last Tuesday.

Emily Donaldson, deputy director of the planning commission, received land development plans from Harrisville-Barkeyville DPP, LLC. in October for the construction of a 9,100-square-foot building and parking area off of Route 8 in Barkeyville Borough.

The Dollar General Store will be built on the property where the former G P Pizza shop was located.

Donaldson returned land development comments to the developers earlier this month.

Barkeyville Borough administers its own stormwater ordinance, so the stormwater review of the property will be done by the borough’s engineering firm.

Donaldson said start and end dates for the project are yet to be determined.
