Teen Driver Rushed to Hospital After Route 8 Crash

SANDYCREEK TWP, Pa. (EYT) – A single-vehicle crash occurred on Route 8 in Sandycreek Township, Venango County, leading to possible injuries for the teenage driver.

The accident took place on January 31, 2024, around 2:16 PM.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police – Franklin, the driver, a 17-year-old resident of Grove City, PA, was traveling southbound on Route 8 when she lost control of his 2009 Chevrolet Malibu for an unknown reason. The vehicle exited the west side of the roadway, ran over a small tree, and continued south for approximately 100 feet.

The Chevrolet Malibu then crossed the southbound lanes and entered the median. It traveled roughly 321 feet through the median before coming to a stop, facing south near the northbound lane.

The driver, who was wearing a lap and shoulder belt at the time of the crash, suffered possible injuries. She was transported by Community Ambulance Service to Grove City Hospital.

The driver was cited for failing to drive at a safe speed.
