  • Clear Creek State Forest Kennerdell Tract in Kennerdel is 3184 acres and open to hunting.

Fishing

  • Justus Lake is a 144 acre 65 ft. deep non gas motor lake with trout, bass, walleye, musky, and panfish.
  • Kahle Lake is a 251 acre no-gas motor lake where you can catch bass, panfish, walleye, and musky.
  • The Allegheny River runs through the center of Venango County for about 57 river miles. Some species that can be caught include bass, walleye, pike, musky, catfish, sauger, and panfish.
  • French Creek is one of the most biologically diverse streams in the north eastern United States boasting 80 species of fish.
  • Little Sandy Creek’s cool waters are well known for wild brown trout fishing.
  • Oil Creek has great bass and trout fishing.

  • Bike along the Allegheny River, Sandy Creek, through tunnels, and across bridges through the beautiful countryside.

Clear Creek State Park: Kennerdell Tract

  • The Kennerdell Tract borders State Game Land 39, and is 3184 acres, with over 6 miles of Allegheny River shoreline.
  • Hike some of the 27 miles of trails
  • Camp at Danner campground, which is about 2 miles upstream of the Kennerdell Bridge. Primitive camping is available with picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. The camping grounds can be reached by floating down the Allegheny River or by hiking in.
  • There is a small parking area on the west side of the Kennerdell Bridge to access the park.
  • A camping permit is required to camp on state land.
