Third Annual Remake Learning Days Set to Enrich Northwestern PA

Remake Learning Days is back in Northwestern PA for its third year, showcasing the learning opportunities that are all around us.

The festival runs from May 4-23 and offers a variety of events that are mostly free to youth and families.

In collaboration with PennWest Clarion student organizations and the School of Education, Remake Learning Days Northwestern PA will feature four engaging pre-festival events from April 29 to May 2. These events include:

  • Bloom with a Book April 29, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Participants will receive seeds and all of the materials to plant flowers and a book in a grab-and-go bag. Pre-registration required.
  • Canvas and Collage Workshop April 30, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Paint a mini canvas to help create a community-generated piece of artwork!
  • Discover WPSU Field Trip and Activity Kits May 1, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This event is for educators, and families to experience the WPSU Virtual Field Trip Activity Kits.
  • May Day Play Day May 2, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A cardboard arcade, readers’ theatre, and art stations and so much more!

The festival is coordinated by Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 in collaboration with Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5, Seneca Highlands Intermediate Unit 9, ARIN Intermediate Unit 28, and Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV. It encourages families to pursue learning opportunities in their own backyard, including local libraries, conservation districts, YMCA’s, art studios, and more.

Remake Learning Days is not just limited to Northwestern PA. The event is paralleled by regional festivals across 15 regions in the United States, including six regions within Pennsylvania, and three international locations in Uruguay, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

Since its origins in southwest Pennsylvania in 2016, Remake Learning Days has become an unparalleled open house of learning, leading the way in collaborative instruction. The festival has hosted more than 3,700 events across the U.S. for pre-K through high-school learners at libraries, schools, tech centers, museums, play spaces, community centers, and more, reaching over 175,000 families.

Remake Learning Days is generously funded by The Grable Foundation and is led by Remake Learning. It is also supported by partners PBS Kids, Common Sense Media, and Learning Heroes, along with 15 lead regional organizations.
