Tough Night for Venango County Girls’ Basketball Teams

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – It was a tough night for the District 10 contingent of the Venango County girls’ basketball teams with Franklin, Oil City and Rocky Grove all dropping decisions.

Franklin lost at home to Erie, 47-29, while Oil City also fell at home, 59-38, to Conneaut, and Rocky Grove dropped a 48-24 home decision to Mercer.

ERIE 47, FRANKLIN 29

A strong fourth quarter helped the visiting Royals to the victory.

Franklin trailed 32-26 going to the final eight minutes but was outscored 15-3 in the fourth quarter.

D’Auzhanay led Erie with 13 points with Adrianna Mitchell and Torreuna Roberts each scoring eight points.

Camdon Bashor had a team-best 11 points for the Lady Knights with Zelika Hartle scoring eight.

CONNEAUT 59, OIL CITY 38

Emma Stevenson scored 16 points to help Conneaut to the 21-point victory.

Rylee Jones added 10 points in the win for the Lady Eagles with Jamie Decker scoring eight.

Maggie McFall had 11 points to pace Oil City with Chloe Terwilliger scoring 10 points.

MERCER 48, ROCKY GROVE 24

Julia Blaski scored a game-high 17 points to help Mercer double up Rocky Grove.

Mackenzie Baker added eight points in the win for the Lady Mustangs.

Kennedi Winslow scored 13 points for Rocky Grove.
