Tractor-Trailer Transporting Pigs Overturns in Scrubgrass Township

SCRUBGRASS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (ETY) — Franklin-based State Police say around 4:48 a.m. on May 29, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

According to police, 47-year-old Thomas A. Flatter, of New Madison, OH, was traveling on I-80 East and failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway.

His 2007 Peterbilt Tractor-Trailer traveled into the center median and overturned, police say.

The vehicle was transporting pigs.

Flatter was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

No other information was provided.
