Two Hospitalized After Aggravated Assault at SCI Forest

JENKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say an incident of Aggravated Assault occurred around 7:29 p.m. on May 3 at SCI Forest, in Jenks Township, Forest County.

According to police, the incident occurred when a 34-year-old male inmate struck a 35-year-old male Corrections Officer twice with a closed fist and knocked him to the ground.

The suspect then struck a 56-year-old male inmate numerous times in the head.

Police say the Corrections Officer was treated for a concussion at Titusville Hospital.

According to police, the inmate who was struck in the head numerous times suffered a broken jaw and was transported to UPMC Hamot for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the suspect was not released.
