SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) — According to the Sugarcreek Police Department, two Conneautville residents were injured in a motorcycle crash on September 27 around 2:26 p.m. near the Wyattville Store in Sugarcreek, Venango County.

Police say the crash occurred as Rebecca Deeter, 23, of Utica, was allegedly attempting to turn left out of the Wyattville Store parking lot into the westbound lane of US-322.

Deeter’s Ford Sedan allegedly entered the roadway directly into the path of a 2010 Harley-Davidson operated by Charles Bortner Jr., 48, of Conneatville. Bortner was traveling eastbound on US-322 at approximately 40 to 50 MPH.

Bortner avoided impact with Deeter’s vehicle, but in the process the motorcycle leaned over onto its side and slid a short distance, say police.

Deeter’s vehicle was unharmed.

Bortner and his passenger — Dawn Uveno, 48, of Conneautville — were both treated at the scene for road abrasions, according to police.

Police say the Harley-Davidson was towed by Leonard’s Towing out of Cochranton.
