HENDERSON, Nevada (EYT) — Two men have been arrested in connection to the death of a former Venango County man.

According to the City of Henderson Police, on April 17, 2019, with the assistance of the City of Phoenix Police Department, the Henderson Police Department were able to locate and arrest 21-year-old Victor Denogean and 20-year-old Jose Ortiz-Casillas for the charge of Open Murder.

Denogean and Ortiz-Cassillas were arrested following an investigation into the death of 55-year-old Curtis B. Rimer, a former Venango County resident who was living in Henderson, Nevada.

Police say the investigation began after a welfare check was performed in the 1900 block of Cutlass Driven in Henderson around 7:14 p.m. on April 9, after Rimer was reported as a missing person by an out-of-state family member, who also requested a welfare check of his residence.

According to police, officers made entry to the residence and discovered Rimer deceased, under what appeared to be suspicious circumstances, and his vehicle, a red 2011 Subaru Legacy, missing. The incident was then investigated as a homicide.

Rimer’s vehicle was recovered following Denogean and Ortiz-Cassillas’ arrests.

Denogean and Ortiz-Casillas are currently awaiting extradition from Arizona back to Nevada while the incident remains under investigation.
