BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — Butler-based State Police say on April 27, two men, one from Harrisville and the other from Emlenton, were thrown from their vehicle in a rollover crash on Interstate-79, near Portersville, in Muddycreek Township, Butler County.

According to police, 24-year-old Devon Burkett, of Harrisville, who was traveling northbound of I-79, attempted to drive in the eastern lane, not seeing a tractor-trailer already in that lane.

Swerving to get back into his lane, he over-steered and lost control of his car, police say.

His car left the highway, struck an embankment, and rolled over twice, ejecting Burkett and his passenger, Brian Lownds, of Emlenton, according to police.

The men were transported to Allegheny General Hospital with major injuries.

No other details were provided.
