WORTH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Mercer-based State Police say around 2:30 p.m. on November 3, a one-car accident occurred on Route 965 (Jackson Center-Polk Road), 312 feet east of Bradley Road, in Worth Township, Mercer County.

According to police, 46-year-old Kimberly A. Hurst, of Mercer, was traveling west on Route 965 toward Mercer, and her 2000 Mercury Grand Marquise LS drove off the north side of the roadway and the passenger’s side of the car struck a guard rail.

The car traveled west across the roadway, and the front driver’s side struck a dirt embankment. Then, the driver’s side quarter panel and tire struck a tree causing the car to rotate counterclockwise. The car continued to travel southwest before coming to a rest off the south side of the roadway facing southeast, police say.

Both Hurst and her passenger, 53-year-old Charles W. Spencer, of Grove City, suffered major injuries.

Superior Ambulance Service transported both occupants to Grove City Medical Center.

Neither occupant was using a seat belt.
