Two-Vehicle Collision in Jenks Township, One Person Injured

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Marienville-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 66, at Smokey Lane, in Jenks Township, Forest County.

Police say 27-year-old Elizabeth Lobdell, of Warren, and 64-year-old David Lyons, of Ellwood City, were involved in the collision.

According to police, this crash occurred around 4:05 p.m. on August 15, as a 2012 Chevrolet SUV, driven by Lobdell, was traveling north on SR 66 following a 1998 Chevrolet Convertible, driven by Lyons.

A vehicle in front of the Lyons’ car slowed suddenly to turn left onto Smokey Lane, and Lyons slowed his car and steered to the right to go around the turning vehicle, police say.

Lobdell did not stop her SUV in time, and the front right end of the vehicle struck the rear left of the convertible, according to police.

The convertible continued north on SR 66, coming to a rest on the east bern on SR 66, police say.

The SUV continued north and came to a rest on the east berm of SR 66 behind the convertible, according to police.

Lobdell was not injured.

Lyons suffered minor injuries.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage and was not towed from the scene.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Department secured the scene until the investigation was completed, police say.
