Two-Vehicle Crash in Sugarcreek Boro

SUGARCREEK BORO, Pa. (EYT) — Four people escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash in Sugarcreek Boro yesterday afternoon.

Police say around 12:12 p.m. on October 27, 2012, a crash happened at the red light on State Route 62 at Giant Eagle and Sugarcreek Township Center Road.

According to police, 57-year-old Stephen K. Amsler of Mercer was stopped in a 1999 Ford at the red light facing west.

Police say 22-year-old Steven J. Roser of Rouseville was traveling west on the same road in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, but he failed to stop for the red light and rear-ended Amsler’s vehicle.

Amsler was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.

Roser and two passengers, 26-year-old Karlye Gelts of Seneca and a 2-year-old boy, also of Seneca, were all wearing seat belts and were not injured.

The Chevrolet suffered disabling damage while the Ford suffered minor damage.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Roser was cited with a traffic violation.
