VENANGO CO., Pa., (EYT) – The United Way of Venango County and Bridge Builders Community Foundation have partnered to bring a COVID-19 Relief Fund to Venango County.

The fund will provide flexible resources to organizations in the region that work with communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and the economic consequences of precautions put in place to prevent its spread.

Funds, in the form of one-time grants, will help local nonprofit organizations.

One hundred percent of donated funds will go to crisis response efforts with no administration, fundraising, or overhead fees.

Will Price, Executive Director of the United Way of Venango County, explained what kind of help those nonprofit organizations receiving money from the fund should be able to provide.

“They should be able to give financial assistance, food assistance, and rent assistance,” he told exploreVenango.com.

Help will go to residents who don’t have health insurance or access to paid sick leave; those unable to provide themselves or their families with basic necessities; and senior citizens concerned with exposure, among others.
