UPDATE: Kittanning Pike Remains Closed Near Parker Following Tractor Trailer Crash

BUTLER CO., Pa. (EYT) – State Route 268/Kittanning Pike remains closed near Parker following a tractor trailer crash that occurred this morning.

According to a representative of Butler County 9-1-1, State Route 268/Kittanning Pike is closed from Parker to Bruin Lanes in the Bear Creek Hill area due to a tractor trailer crash.

They received a call reporting the crash shortly after 10:00 a.m. and Butler-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.

A short time later, fire companies from Bruin, Petrolia, and Parker were dispatched for traffic control, and a hazardous materials team was called in due to diesel fuel leaking from the truck.

Crews remain at the scene as of 2:15 p.m.

According to PennDOT, the closure of the road has been extended until approximately 4:00 p.m. today.

No additional details are available at this time.

Police are expected to release information on the accident within the next 48 hours.
