Police Pursuit Ends in Foot Chase in Jackson Township

JACKSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a police pursuit that began in Crawford County ended in a short foot pursuit in Jackson Township, Venango County, on Monday evening.

Around 6:34 p.m. on Monday, July 12, Corry-based State Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2000 Dodge Dakota for multiple traffic violations on Fauncetown Road in Troy Township, Crawford County.

Police say the suspect vehicle failed to stop and then increased its speed on Bradleytown Road in Venango County.

According to police, the pursuit then traveled approximately six miles total before ending on White Road in Jackson Township, Venango County, where the bridge is out.

The vehicle attempted to go around the bridge, but subsequently got stuck in the woods nearby. The driver, a known 49-year-old Townville man, then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

The name of the suspect was not released.

Police say charges of fleeing and eluding, drugs and paraphernalia, and numerous summary traffic violations are pending.
