Utica Teen Escapes Injury in Crash on Meadville Pike

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on Meadville Pike, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

According to police, around 12:12 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, a 2000 Subaru Legacy Outback was traveling on Meadville Pike, and the driver — 18-year-old Gage A. Hawke, of Utica — lost control of it as he was navigating a curve in the roadway.

The vehicle crossed over the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a ditch on the side of the roadway.

Hawke was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Lowrey’s Towing.

Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
