Vehicle Crashes into House in Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Pleasantville sent one woman to a local hospital.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 1:09 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, Elizabeth S. Hasbrouck, 49, of Pleasantville, was operating a 2016 Jeep Patriot, traveling on North Main Street at its intersection with 3rd Street in Pleasantville Borough.

Police say Hasbrouck’s vehicle slid on the snow/ice covered roadway and slid through the stop sign at the intersection, where it collided with a 1995 Chevrolet Astro Van driven by 44-year-old Julie A. Schneider of Pleasantville.

Following the initial impact, Schneider’s vehicle traveled off the left side of North Main Street and struck a house, causing damage to the porch and structure.

Schneider’s vehicle came to a final rest on the porch of the house, while Hasbrouck’s vehicle came to a final rest on North Main Street, facing east.

Both Hasbrouck and Schneider were wearing seatbelts.

Hasbrouck suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Titusville Area Hospital by Community Ambulance.

Schneider suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported.

Hasbrouck was cited for a speed violation.

Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, and Thompson’s Towing assisted at the scene.
