According to police, the crash occurred as Matthew Roadarmer was traveling north on State Route 227 in his vehicle.

Roadarmer was attempting to pass other vehicles when he encountered standing water on the roadway’s surface. His vehicle began to hydroplane, left the roadway, struck a road culvert, and became airborne, police say.

Roadarmer’s vehicle then rolled onto its side and slid into pine tree branches where it completely rolled over, according to police.

The vehicle then struck an elevated driveway bank and rolled onto its nose. The vehicle then rolled upright, left the yard area, and struck the roadway surface again, coming to a final rest after landing on its wheels, police say.

Roadarmer was transported to UPMC for treatment of his injuries.

A traffic citation has been filed against Roadarmer at District Judge Fish’s office.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Venango Towing.

Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
