Vehicle Slams Into Guide Rail Along Halyday Run Road

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a vehicle slammed into a guide rail along Halyday Run Road on Sunday evening.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the accident happened around 5:28 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, on Halyday Run Road, at its intersection with Shaffer Run Road, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

Police say 81-year-old Neil F. Johns, of Oil City, was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic traveling on Halyday Run Road when he left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a guide rail before coming to a final rest.

Johns was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Venango Towing.

Reno Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
