CORNPLANTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a Pleasantville man escaped injury after striking a utility pole with his vehicle around 1:41 p.m. on January 9, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

Police say the crash occurred as Ralph R. Becker, 64, of Pleasantville, was traveling north on Grandview Road.

Becker’s 2005 Saturn Vue began to fishtail and traveled northwest off the roadway, according to police.

After leaving the roadway, police say Becker’s vehicle struck a utility pole, coming to a final rest against the pole.

Becker was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and suffered no injuries, say police.

Becker was cited with a traffic violation.

PSP Franklin were assisted at the scene by Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department.
