CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Five people escaped injury when a minivan crashed into a bear last night on Interstate 80 in Clarion Township.

Clarion-based State Police say a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country operated by Kenneth W. Brannon, 52, of Oil City, was traveling east on Interstate 80 when a bear entered the roadway.

Police say the front-right side of Brannon’s vehicle subsequently struck the bear.

Brannon and 50-year-old Erin M. Brannon, also of Oil City, escaped injury.

Three juvenile passengers also escaped injury in the accident.

There’s no word on whether the bear survived the crash.
