Venango Technology Center Open House Set for Thursday

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The Venango Technology Center will host an open house on Thursday, October 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Both prospective and current students and families are invited to stop in to visit the 15 different program areas.

The programs include Allied Health Occupations, Automotive Technology, Auto Body Repair Technology, Building Construction Technology, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Computer Information Systems, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Electronics Technology, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Machine Tool Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair Technology, Protective Services, Natural Resources, and Welding Technology.

The sending schools of the VTC include Cranberry, East Forest, Franklin, Oil City, Rocky Grove, Titusville, and West Forest.

Students in grades 10 to 12 are eligible to apply for enrollment, beginning in the spring of the school year prior to the year they wish to attend.

Through attending Open House, prospective students are able to explore the course offerings and talk with instructors as they make this important decision in their academic planning.

Attendees will also be able to vote in the VTC Pumpkin Carving Competition organized by the National Technical Honor Society and Student Senate Ambassadors. Students and open house guests will vote through monetary donation, which will be given to a local charity. The shop-carved pumpkin that raises the most donations will be declared the winner.
