Warrant Issued Following Strangulation Incident in Cranberry Township

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a warrant has been issued for an individual accused of attempting to strangle a woman in Cranberry Township late last week.

Around 12:49 p.m. on February 19, Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to a report of a domestic incident involving strangulation that reportedly occurred earlier in the morning.

According to police, around 4:00 a.m., a known 52-year-old female victim of Oil City was in a verbal argument with a known individual that turned physical.

Police say during the course of the altercation, the known individual strangled the victim, causing the victim to be unable to breathe momentarily before the known individual released her.

According to police, an arrest warrant on charges of strangulation, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment has been issued through District Court 28-3-03.

The identity of the accused individual was not released.
