Woman Charged with Attempted Homicide Following Stabbing in Leeper

LEEPER, Pa. (EYT) – A Tionesta woman is facing charges in connection with the stabbing of a 25-year-old man in Leeper early this morning.

Marienville-based State Police say Kayla M. Butler, 26, of Tionesta, was arrested following a domestic dispute which resulted in the stabbing of a 25-year-old Leeper man around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, the dispute started in a vehicle traveling along Route 66 near Arnold Avenue and continued into the parking lot of Uni-Mart in Leeper.

The victim was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. Police did not indicate the severity of his injuries.

Butler was arraigned before District Magistrate Amy Long-Turk on charges including Criminal Attempt/Criminal Homicide and Aggravated Assault.

She was committed to the Clarion County Jail after failing to post $20,000 straight cash bail.
