OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — According to the Oil City Police Department, a woman is facing charges after allegedly filing a fictitious report.

Police say the incident occurred on August 15 when Christy Lewis-Markley allegedly reported to police that two puppies were left on her porch and she did not know where they came from. She allegedly told police she could not keep the puppies.

The puppies were then picked up and transported to the Humane Society by the Oil City Police Department.

After being contacted by a third party and a short investigation, it was found that Markley actually obtained the puppies from a Facebook contact, say police.

According to police, Markley is being charged with fictitious reports to law enforcement and theft of services.

The above report was released to exploreVenango.com on September 29, 2014.
