Woman Injured When Vehicle Crashes into House Along State Route 8

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say one woman was injured on Sunday when a vehicle crashed into a house along State Route 8 in Sandycreek Township.

According to police, around 6:35 a.m. on January 10, a one-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 8 just north of Means Drive.

Police say 31-year-old Kasee L. Poindexter, of Franklin, was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, traveling north on State Route 8 when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a mailbox. The vehicle then continued through four yards before striking a tree and a house.

It is unknown if Poindexter was wearing a seatbelt.

She suffered possible injuries of an unknown severity and was transported to UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance Service.

Sandycreek Volunteer Fire Department, Polk Fire Rescue, and Venango Towing also assisted at the scene.

Poindexter was cited for a traffic violation.
