OIL CITY, Pa. — The Oil City YMCA Forever Well program offers classes to promote an active lifestyle for older adults.

Forever Well at the YMCA offers land and water classes of all ability levels.

RESTORATIVE STRETCH  Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. from in the Fitness Studio

The class begins with dynamic stretches, which warm the body and increase flexibility through movement. Restorative stretch helps maintain mobility, prevent injury and increase physical performance.  Please wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water.   FREE/Members; $40/Non-Members per month.

SILVER CIRCUIT M/W/F 8:30-9:15 am in the Fitness Studio

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises. Please wear   athletic shoes, and comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water. FREE/Members; $40/Non-members per month.

WATER EXERCISE CLASSES

ARTHRITIS AQUATIC PROGRAM

A series of gentle exercises to improve joint mobility and relieve pain and stiffness.  Class meets in the YMCA pool.

  • M/W/F 9-10:00 am
  • $5 for Members; $40/month for Non-members

AQUA AEROBICS

An excellent form of exercise in the pool which is easy on the joints and offers all the benefits of a cardiovascular workout.  Monthly Fees: $5 to YMCA Members

  • M/W/F 10:00-11:00 am $40/Non-members
  • T/TH 9:30-10:30 am $27/Non-members 
  • M/W 7:30 pm-8:30 pm $27/Non-members

SILVERSPLASH

Activate your urge for variety. Splash offers fun, shallow-water movement to improve agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard or other aquatic equipment is used to improve strength, balance and coordination. Please wear water shoes and bring water in a plastic bottle.

  • $5 to YMCA Members; $40/month for Non– members
